The Surf camp

Our selection of Surf camp Algarve options are located in the beautiful Vincenta National Park in the Algarve region in southern Portugal.

Located at the southwestern point of Portugal, the area receives a consistent Atlantic swell year round, making it one of the best places in the world for surfing. There are lots of lovely white sandy beaches, perfect for beginners, as well as challenging point breaks and reef breaks for the more experienced surfers to be explored.

The surf lodges are located from the souther tip of Sagres and on up the coast to Arrifana beach, which currently is one of the most popular beaches to surf in Portugal. Ask the locals and you'll see! Other beaches within short proximity of the lodge include Monte Clerigo, Amoreira, and Praia De Canal.

The spot is extremely calm and relaxed, with the party life consisting of the weekly karaoke night in the local bar Piranha, where you can watch surfers and local hangarounds hitting the karaoke machine. A short drive away is the historical town of Aljezur, with its great local restaurants and fresh food markets.

Algarve has a hot Mediterranean climate and receives the greatest number of sunny days per year in all of Europe. In the summer months (July to September) the air temperature usually stays between 25°C and 32°C. In the winter months (December to February) the temperature drops to around 13°C, and you usually have an increase in rain and wind. In the spring and autumn the temperatures stays around 22°C, with mild winds and usually sunny days.

Surf school

The surf school tends to take place on Arrifana, Amoreira or Monte Clerigo beach depending on the current conditions. You and the other campers are taken to the beach by car by each surf camp.

The surf camp all supply you with all equipment needed, and the instructors are experienced surfers who are passionate to teach you loads about waves, wind and water. Groups are always kept to a maximum of 8 people per session so everyone will get a chance at one to one tuition. All surf instructors are BSA qualified and are certified lifeguards.

We guarantee that after one week of surf school the complete beginner will be able to surf and the experienced surfer will have improved greatly.
